At its pre-G-Star press conference today, South Korean publisher NCsoft unveiled Lineage Eternal: Twilight Resistance, a new action MMORPG and the third title in its 13-year-old, client-based Lineage franchise.
The news follows just a week after the company announced that Lineage II, which launched in 2003, will switch from a tiered subscription model to free-to-play later this year with the release of the Goddess of Destruction expansion.
NCsoft showed off three classes from the new MMORPG -- Warrior, Mage and
Elemental Archer -- and demonstrated a new "drag and hold" combat
system allowing players to hit enemies in a pattern drawn with their
mouse, according to ThisIsGame.
Lineage Eternal will also feature the large-scale battles and siege warfare the series is known for, along with a "Smart View" option designed to adjust the Diablo-style isometric perspective to better show players' characters during these clashes.
The publisher did not announce a release date or business model for the
game, but it intends to show off a new trailer in the next couple of
days, and will begin beta-testing Lineage Eternal sometime in early 2012.
