According to a translation by Adriasang, Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada hinted during a May 13 earnings briefing that the company plans to announce a new large scale MMO during this fiscal year, which runs through the end of March 2012.

Wada stated that Square Enix plans to
operate two to three MMOs simultaneously. Wada commented on the problems
plaguing Final Fantasy XIV, noting that "they're at the point
where they can see the target." Square Enix operates both Final Fantasy
XI and Final Fantasy XIV, and it's also worth mentioning that it's the
publisher of Wakfu, which is currently in closed beta in North America.

that was the thought about FFXIV too and look how it went (it's still full of potential, but they kinda killed it, and it ll be hard for people to re-join it)

In fact it might be a good option for them, to re-call this stage of FFXIV to testing phase again, and actually place it the way it is, a work in progress that's not worth being officially launched yet, so when they do actually rework the game properly, they can promote it as a re-launch and re-born.

IMO, the FF game development team needs to go for some basic game design courses and hopefully put off any ideas of making a game that requires use of the internet for a year.

They should forget about a new mmo and focus on making another game based on FF VII. People will surely love it and I've been waiting for something new since crisis core...
If they make a new large-scale mmo, they will put FF XIV server population at risk since they will be migrating to the new and hopefully well made mmo.

do you no how many pll want a remake of FF 7 i was hoping they do that but sadly no
only saw a PS3 demo of ff 7
