Wakfu is based on an idea where players have to keep
the world in the state that they want it. Planting and harvesting has impact on the environment on the area you're in, as does your fights.
NPCs
have almost been removed (except in the tutorial), and although it's
still turn-based combat like Dofus, you gain and improve spells by using
them, and your stat points can only be spent on "secondary stats" such
as prospecting, traps, dodge, tackle, heals, AP, MP and so on.
Wakfu is an incredibly ambitious game where the players make the
environment. Players can get elected, make laws on PvP etc, collect
mats to build their own house, farm to extinction plants and trees yet
also plant their own.
As such it's a huge experiment where you may not want to go and develop a uber-haxx pwnzor character.
Some time in the future of Wakfu, you will be able to build houses. In
Dofus, you can only buy houses that are a permanent part of the game.
The
government in Wakfu is changeable - everything is player based. The
nearest thing Dofus has to this is the Mercenary alignment and guilds.
You
can kill any monsters you like in Dofus. In Wakfu, the monsters breed.
If you kill too many, they become endangered. If you attack endangered
monsters, you are branded a criminal and have to serve jail time.
Wakfu
has a balance between two different forces - Stasis and Wakfu. Wakfu is
"good". Wakfu includes things like planting plants, culling animals
that there are too many of, etc. Stasis includes harvesting plants,
crafting things, etc.
You can't
leech in Wakfu. If you want to level a spell, you have to use it to win
the fight. The more you use a spell of one particular element, the more
spells of that element you have access to, and the stronger they are.
