The South Korean leading console game developer Softmax is now developing its new MMO project - The War of Genesis Online. Following the launch of Manga Carta 2, another console game is also being worked on.

Based on Softmax's famous console game series The War of Genesis, the MMORPG "The War of Genesis Online" has attracted lots of attention. The director Young Giu Chio, who's the main producer of The War of Genesis series, has been put in charge of the development of The War of Genesis Online. According to Softmax, their development goal is to enable The War of Genesis Online to be published in 2011. So, it's possible that related game info will be unveiled in the second half of this year. At the end of last year, Softmax announced to recruit programmers for their new project and disclosed that the Gamebyro engine would be applied in the new project's development, making people easily think that the new project may have something to do with The War of Genesis Online.

In Sept. 2009, Yong-Won Jung , director general of Softmax, officially confirmed the development of The War of Genesis Online without revealing any detailed plans. 4 months have passed till now, and Softmax still doesn't talk anything about The War of Genesis Online's development, leaving only "Everything will be brought to light when the right time comes". Aside from The War of Genesis Online, a new console game following Manga Carta 2 is also being prepared. Though it's still unclear what this new game will look like and on which platform it will be based, insiders still speculate that the Unreal engine will be adopted.
