| basically they asking ppl to play all the races since they all have different storyline.
the random map dungeon do sound a bit more interesting tot.will be interested to try that.
mini game is kinna in all mmo nowadays i guess lol
3 server war zone sound fun tot heh
the key of the game should be how they do the 5 ppl dungeon instance and the pvp.the rest of the features most ppl will prob find boring after a while or lacking since not all ppl will want to play all races.same like all mmo i guess.as long they update game once a while it will keep ppl happy.

| GW been an amazing game for pvp, I have 0,0 worry about that part of the game
Also I loved GW pve tbh, and they seem to have gone further on that then ever before so I have very little worry about that too
And for the grinders, well there's 80 lvls now instead of 20 (20 was reachable in a day XD)

| Recently, German media buffed had an interview with , game designers on Guild Wars 2. In this interview, Jon Peters gives us tons of information about endgame, world PvP, crafting and much more. Below is a quick reading version of the interview. Enjoy! It's important to know that unlike most of the MMOs, when you reached the level cap in Guild Wars 2, the game content isn't supposed to change a lot. Those who like doing events would keep exploring the land of Tyria while those who prefer dungeons can challenge the brand new lvl 80 dungeons. There is a special repetition mode with new and different tasks that will enable players to experience new elements in those dungeons they had once visited. You don't need to visit instances repeatedly to get good equipments. Instead, you can get better equipments from large dynamic events or world PvP. The only difference is the appearance, though. As for crafted equipment, if you think some certain equipment looks better, you can even transfer the attributes of one item to another item as long as they are the same type.
The world PvP is scheduled to hold once a week. For three servers at a time, one area will be generated. Currently, there are four different giant battlefields. In addition, there are no means of direct communication between the servers. If one side is over strong, the other two can cooperate with silent agreement. That's why they choose three sides for PvP. As for crafting, the dev encourage players to find new recipes through combining various resources players obtain during exploring.
For the next two unknown professions, buffed speculated Mesmer will be the next class. Of course, Jon Peters didn't confirm that. The only thing he can say right now is that among the remaining unknown classes, one will wear light and one will wear medium armor. At the end of the interview, Peters considered that Guild Wars 2 would be a great success when it releases. The dev team hopes that players would transfer their attention from competing in PvE areas to working towards a common goal. "We want to create a world which the players like to enter to play together." Peter concluded.

| During the financial conference call held in Korea on May 17th, NCsoft has announced that the Guild Wars 2 beta will begin in the second half of 2011. It has also been mentioned in an interview with IncGamers, "We are definitely on target for a Closed Beta this year. We're going to do a closed Alpha and Beta test and we're totally on target for those things." Game designer John and Eric said. But the bad news is that it is probably Guild Wars 2 won't be released until 2012, according to chief financial officer Jaeho Lee. "Starting from year 2012, we believe substantial growth will be driven by new blockbuster titles like [Blade & Soul] and Guild Wars 2," he said to investors. Guild Wars 2 was originally announced in 2007. So far, it has been developed for more than 4 years and the whole dev team is still working very hard at this highly-anticipated and long-awaited project. But ArenaNet's tenet for the release window is " When it's ready". Obviously, they don't rush to hit a confirmed release date before Guild Wars 2 is really prepared for launch. | |

| ArenaNets has shared with us lots of nitty gritty details about Guild Wars 2's gameplay on the ground, and in the open world. But the world of Tyria is wider and deeper than you can imagine. Now ArenaNets invites you to the vast underwater world and the dangerous dungeons! Breathe and drown underwaterSince the developers want you to focus on the fascinating underwater contents, they don't want a breathing bar or sort of breathing system to bother your gameplay. You don't have to worry about breathing, you just breathe down there because you'll automatically wear a breathing apparatus when diving into the water. But that doesn't mean there's no drowning in the game. When your heath reduces to zero, you enter the drowning state, similar to the downed state on the ground. So you have three ways to recover under drowning state:
- You kill an opponent, which will cause you to rally.
- An ally can revive you, just as they can above water.
- You reach the surface of the water, where you will stop drowning and regain
health. When your health bar fills all the way you'll be revived.
Underwater world isn't simply a place with a lot of water It will be a waste if you just see the underwater world as a place where you come for killing some mobs, or doing several quests. ArenaNet hopes underwater become a place you really enjoy to come and explore, thus, they are designing the underwater parts for a wide variety of dynamic events, dungeons, and your personal story. Even free exploration under the sea will be very special experience, for there are spectacular sights, diverse challenges, underwater races and powerful enemies. So, how's the combat underwater? There are x-axis and y-axis on the ground, but you get z-axis when going under the sea. In such kind of 3D space, you will be able to pour your arrows to the enemies from above. You can use skills to force enemies up to the surface, or drag them down to the ocean floor. It becomes more complicated, but more interesting when fighting underwater. Oh, there are cool underwater weapons that may keep you from leaving the water, including close-quarters melee weapons like Spear, long-range magical weapon like Trident, and long-range mechanical weapon like Harpoon gun. Whatever profession you are, you can find a weapon that suitable for you. Another big deal for underwater combat is the skill. Your land-based abilities and skills will automatically change to equivalent underwater skills, though not all of them. Surely new skills will bring you new gameplay experience. Does the underwater world excite you? Here comes the dungeon which will excite you even more. We've briefly looked at the dungeons of Guild Wars 2 last year, and we know that there aren't too many dungeons in the game (a new dungeon will be available approximately every 10 levels), but each of them is fairly unique and divided into story and explorable versions. You may have known that the story mode of the dungeon is about the tale of former members(Zojja, Logan, Rytlock, Caithe, and Eir) of Destiny's Edge. For example, in the Ascalonian dungeon, players plunge into the catacombs beneath haunted Ascalon. The norn hero Eir Stegalkin is hunting for the remains of King Adelbern's sword, Magdaer. The charr tribune Rytlock Brimstone wants you to help him stop Eir before she stirs up the restless spirits of the Ascalonian ghosts. Both you and the iconic characters discover that there is more going on in the old Ascalonian Catacombs than anyone had anticipated. After you finish the story version, you can challenge the explorable version. Although you still play the same dungeon, the circumstances have changed and new challenges have arisen, as a result of your actions in the story mode. Besides, dynamic events will embrace you in the dungeon - the dungeon has bonus events that can be triggered by player actions, by location, or even by random chance. Even when you're adventuring again in the same dungeon and making the same choices, you can get a different gaming experience as a result of these bonus events. Dungeon is essentially for group play, so it doesn't affect your personal story and even you never step into a dungeon, you can continue your personal story line without any hinder. Dungeon is also a place where you can get unique armors and the treasures inside a single dungeon can't be found in any other dungeon. Why? It's a means to enhance a single dungeon's last appeal. | Best way is limited playtime, as in literally have your account/game cut-off after a certain time
There's software for that, could use a living person or do it through your isp
I think most of us that play mmos for a longer time have been there, where you just stay a bit longer to finish this or finish that, or finish dungeon or help someone etc.
When you know you'r gonna have connection loss in xxx minutes you know which content you'r able to run and which not then you can plan for it in game. Then even if you do want to run a bit longer when it cuts off it cuts off.
