Yesterday, we brought you the new ArcheAge trailer that XLGAMES originally planned to debut at the Tencent Games
Carnival 2012; lucky for us, it released early. Today, we can see the
entire live stage presentation the studio put on at the carnival. In
addition to the trailer, attendees were treated to costumed actors
representing four different classes and at least two different races
plus live music and additional gameplay footage.

Next, XLGAMES devs took the stage, and using the names of registered
fans in China for the countdown, they announced that the Chinese beta
will begin in May 2013. Sadly, there are no subtitles for those of us
not fluent in Chinese, but feel free to share if you can translate, and
check out the full presentation after the break.




While the big Thanksgiving meal may be over (except for the leftovers, of course!), ArcheAge
fans get to feast their eyes on a new trailer filled with plenty of eye
candy. From locales to mounts to combat, the video, which was created
for Chinese publisher Tencent, depicts a variety of gameplay features. There are even clips of a storm on the high seas and what appears to be a wedding!

An exciting news which is certainly worth your atention has come, the highly anticipated MMORPG ArcheAge has confirmed that the English version is in the works by Mr Jake Song, who is the founder of XLGAMES. With throngs of overseas players trying to get into the upcoming Korean Open Beta despite the barriers, it must be an encouraging news for the develop team.

So here's a few things I'm thinking about Archeage

I've been talking a lot about this game with a buddy of mine at work who plays EVE
And since EVE is a very open and player run sandbox type of game, which Archeage comes close to especially in the Northern continent we can learn a lot from watching how EVE developed over the years.

This game is absolutely not solo friendly.
What I mean with that.
If you want to make use of all the contents you'r gonna need a lot of people.
But this game isn't even 1 guild friendly.
As a guild of 20 players, you'r not gonna make a huge impact on the game world, simply due to how much materials/money/effort everything requires.
If you want to own a castle and a lot of land in the Northern continent, you'r gonna need a lot of players, a big guild or be part of an alliance.

So yea I think that for Archeage, we definitely want to get a lot of recruits, but since it's a political game and very sandboxy, we ll want more mature and understanding players and players with trading/thinking talents outside of the game.
Not just a huge zerg of randoms that just do random stuff.

Besides getting new recruits in that want to work with the guild, we ll want to most likely lead, or be part of an alliance which aims to conquer/settle in the new world (Northern continent)

Communication, planning and strategy is going to be key
Playing the market, setting up trading routes/monopolizing some resources etc
Gearing up our PK/War team, maybe have a pirate/outlaw team/guild in our alliance or part of a guild

There is a lot of stuff to do and I see plenty of playtime in this game.

But this being a political/strategy/war game, we should not forget and learn from our faults and successes during Aika/Rohan and other comparable games.

So with this being said, I thik I ll be starting up the Archage section already and prepare our current members.
While building up our plans and strategies, deciding on who ll be able to join and who can lead, letting everyone know what our move and aim is gonna be.
