Hm...

Day 1 - 2 hours - lv10
Day 2 - 9 hours - lv33
Day 3 - 6 hours - lv35 aka max
Total: 17 hours

Also, I didn't really grind. I spend more time running around, farming etc, while pausing A LOT of times to check on the TW guide.

Imo, a player with decent experiences on the game system are able to hit 35 in less than 15 hours without distraction.

My OBT grind method will be very different though:

Leveling Style
1. Craft weapons ONLY IF I got the material when I hit the level else, skip / buy from npc (Farming takes too much time when you're not gonna permanently use the weapon)
2. Wear whatever drops from the mob
3. Save money to spam guild quest at lv37-40 to cover the empty gap between quests.
4. Ignore dungeon except for the lv19 one.
5. Couple with Pain to get permanent 5% exp buff etc.

Pet Style
1. Get little shroom for lv6 quest [Battle pet due to stun skill]
1. Get Ocean Jelly when questing at the beach area of Jade Forest [Merge for movement speed and hp]
2. Get blue named Sand Jelly at lv30+ [Battle pet due to skill effect]
3. Get blue named lv35 guard at lv35 [Merge for atk, magic crit rate, magic crit dmg]

IGN: Facade. got lvl 10 in about an hr just following the auto route quests.

Might get my wife to try this game its ez and cute, Shes never played an MMO let alone the computer, so might be an easy one to try learn on, if i have the patience :)

What do you guys think? Is this game guild-friendly? I've been playing for a while (lvl 27 atm) and I never needed a party. A guild wouldn't make much of a difference. The game seems to be aimed at solo playing.

At level 37, you won't have enough quest to level you up to lv40, so you got 2 choices:
1. Grind the remaining exp
2. Do guild quest (In a party if possible)

Also, guild can buy a town to sell dungeon guild quest etc. Other than that, depending on the guild friendliness, you might be able to share craft materials with others or trade more easily since you're bound to obtain materials that you don't need. It'll benefit you a lot too.

As for party, you can do without one (Except for dungeons) but with one, it'll be much faster imo. Also, to level up couple level, you'll need to party with your other half and kill mob together etc (Afking together won't work).

Open beta will start from Jan.17th 2012.

The login method will be changed in open beta. So there won't be any "can not start" problems.
