We would like to announce that we will be bringing the extended free
trial period to a close and introducing subscription-based billing to
FINAL FANTASY XIV, commencing Friday, January 6, 2012.

Will it even survive?

doubtful,most will opt to come back after they finished revamp game and not pay while wait.

If anyone even comes back

They plan for the full revamp to be done somewhere in October 2012

By that time Tera and GW2 will be out for sure and who knows TSW and all the other inbetween games

No dice, still not worth paying 10 USD per month for.

i will move ffxiv section to close beta reviews for now.

maybe we will take a closer look at it later on when 2.0 is here.

i just saying we should give ffxiv a look after they finished revamp of the game.but not encouraging ppl to pay for monthly for now ^^
