At its pre-G-Star press conference today, South Korean publisher NCsoft unveiled Lineage Eternal: Twilight Resistance, a new action MMORPG and the third title in its 13-year-old, client-based Lineage franchise.
NCsoft showed off three classes from the new MMORPG -- Warrior, Mage and Elemental Archer -- and demonstrated a new "drag and hold" combat system allowing players to hit enemies in a pattern drawn with their mouse, according to ThisIsGame.
Lineage Eternalwill also feature the large-scale battles and siege warfare the series is known for, along with a "Smart View" option designed to adjust the Diablo-style isometric perspective to better show players' characters during these clashes.
The publisher did not announce a release date or business model for the game, but it intends to show off a new trailer in the next couple of days, and will begin beta-testing Lineage Eternal sometime in early 2012.

I wonder how "drag and hold" works in mouse. I understand it may connects with the way you swings your swords / melee weapons.
Still, that won't work on archers or mage, unless 'drag' means hold your bow for better arrow charging speed / bigger spell power. Then THAT is somehow similar to Dragon Nest lol!

sometimes i think mmo companies overdid the action style mmo portion.i kinna miss the old style mmo heh
Who doesnt :) . But i think it is only a matter of nostalgia anyways ;)

well action feature is usually limited in scale like overuse of instances or badly done or very laggy otherwise so far in the mmo i have tested hehe.
hence unless they make it so that huge open world mmo pvp is doable in action style without too much of the lag i will prefer old style more and action style when i am playing solo or in small group like in dragon nest haha

DCUO has proven that action packed doesn't have to lag at all
They totally failed at other points, but they did manage to deliver an open world that's action packed and not laggy overall
The combat was really good too, except them failing at using global delays so animation clipping got out of hand for quite some time
Exactly what i was going to say.... U STOLE MY THOUGHTS ...U KNOW TELEPATHY ?!?!?

=p dcuo is not a mmo in my view.u guys who were playing dcuo at the starting all quit so fast prove this and don't forget before the f2p most of their server is empty of interaction.ppl log in and play but they do not talk cos they were using console.its a action style online game with multi players feature and not really a full fetch mmorpg in my view heh.
give me another example i dare u guys lolz ^_^

My issue was content, You could get to max lvl within a day or 2, do all the daily missions and then have nothing to do except PK randoms if you could find them or Arena battles.
Communication was lacking badly aswell, unless you were part of a large guild using vent there was no chatting in game really. But then i could say the same about FFXIV there ;p
DCUO was/is an MMO and had some nice raid content, Just not on the scale most of us are used too. I think due to is genre Based on DC Comics they are limited in keeping it within the story of the DC world and didn't realise players would chew through all the content so fast.
I played city of Heroes/Villians aswell that lasted a bit longer due to the lvl grind after 30 and alot more PvE content, the super hero games are fun but seem to lack staying power though.

precisely smaller scale.u noticed all action style mmo have a smaller scale to it due to the limit on the server load.example 2-3 years ago a friend who is in the gaming industry took one look at C9 action style feature and told me immediately its bound to have a lot of instance with limited open world feature due to the data load limit.
unless they come up with new technology and a new gaming engine i doubt it will improve by much ^^
and action style mmo due to so much clicking u dont have time to type and chat much in game making interaction few by far unless u go voice chat heh.
tat why i prefer less action feature to a mmo.a few is fine but don't overdo it ^^

Shu, DCUO had a BIG open world
The lack of content came from the fact that you didn't really had to lvl or if you did the lvl cap of 30 was easily reachable pure by story-line
The lack of communication was because Sony was failing hard at making a proper chat system and their in game voice chat was horrible and made everyone in party scream turn it off if someone had it on This is not due the fact that it was an action mmo, but because Sony just sucks at interface making (let alone they made the game for the ps3 at the same time and like FFXIV tried to use same interface for PC and ps3 at 1st)
The raids were just as fun as any other mmo
The game did indeed use a new engine to achieve what it did
The problem with DCUO is not how it was set-up though, but how Sony continued with it
They basically gave us content for the 1st month, but that was it after that they released trololol content, like valentines crap as content update.... well sorry that won't keep people interested. Why I keep mentioning DCUO is, because the engine was there already, but Sony just didn't deliver what it could have.
Now the point I'm trying to make here is. If a proper company had the resources, engine, etc of what Sony had for DCUO And could work for a while on a good mmo, you could have a perfectly fine action mmo, with no instances other then places that we'r used to being instanced anyway (raids/dungeons) With a big open world, lots of freedom and pretty much crush WoW numbers.

I'm actually going to skip Tera, unless it comes at a fortunate time (like right now, or right after the next big mmo which I play)
Tera is not a full action mmo, you still have the huge skill bar there I belive, and pretty limited. It's closer to Aion playstyle wise without the targeting.
Basically just saying it took them too long and they'r over their peak of player interest in the game, because other games showed better/more/comparable things already.

Just watched its video
Looks more like diablo / BoI / MU2 then normal mmo
This is definitely not L3, and I get why they name it different
Still looks pretty interesting, just different type of game
The guy has all of the new mmo from gstar on his channel so it's easy to check out all the upcoming titles

nice snow.at least there is a trailer now.i will moved it to new mmo section.
however i will pass on this.if i wish to play this kind of mmo gene i would pick diablo 3 or eligium online which have different camera view option instead,if later LE have more features i will reconsider ^^
and ya it does look a bit like boi, just more improved heh
