Nexon takes Mabinogi offline to combat RMT

Mabinogi fans aren't having the best of weeks, as their MMO of choice has been down for the count since October 4th. ThisIsGame.com reported that Nexon
took the free-to-play fantasy title completely offline in order to deal
with unauthorized real-money trading and implement new security
measures.

Players were warned of the downtime approximately one hour before it
occurred, and though there's no time table for a restart, Nexon has said
that it will compensate customers accordingly.

"We have found lots of RMT [resulting] from workers and auto players
during the last holiday. So we are working on [an] investigation [...]
and proceeding [with] broadscale system maintenance to root it out," the
company said

saw this post which further prove in order to make a f2p successfully in the long run,manual gms admin and regularly updates of security check is a way better solution then just using automated system to autoban players and making them quit heh,basically rmt is everywhere in gaming world now.no point to ban ppl from manual farming or buying.they need to focus instead of banning/stopping the flow of bots/spammers and bugs/exploits

They got fun games though

At least unlike Aeria they don't breath in your neck while being bad so the games are still enjoyable, just don't expect much customer support if shit happens

alot of game companies dont care much as long they get there mony

how long did joymax from silk road take to stop those gold botters very very long time

GameHi game Dekaron rely a masive good pk game but again GM dont care and it crawling with botters and hackers bummer it was so fun there

Acclaim also from 2moons and more the GM there was corupt and hack also

Cabal have a very big war vs hackers and botters but again alot of GM work there ass off to make it beter but its a hopeless batttle bummer that so many hackers are around -.-

only PW companie do things good in my few orther hand also to much buy is win butttttttt they stop the gold spamers

but i was thinking why make every time a beter hack schield that dont work good
why not get the pll the spread hacks and why are those hack sites stil in the air ??

like Elitepvpers a big site for all your hacks is there not any groep off pll that can shut then down ?? is it rely so hard to track down those pll ore wil it be a endless war ??

I really never understood hackers...u must be retarded to do that ... destroying the game for yourself and for everyone else playing with you...

Hackers and gold farmers are like software piracy: u just can't fight it face to face. U have to find the way around it.
1 of these days some new mmo company will come up with a reliable official/legal rmt system (simply buy gold at the item mall). U just have to make ur prices better than those of gold farmers and make sure ur in-game economy doesnt break in the process.

They Killed Exteel, I hope they die :D @ Nexon

Exteel had 1 of the worst cash shops i've ever seen. In that game u had to buy weapons and parts from the cash shop to avoid getting ultra owned. Regular non-cash shop weapons and parts were terribly weak.

Not that much, I managed to be a competitive "capture the flag" player in clans without any cash items, but u had to farm like a madman.. if you couldnt play for 1 week all ur parts/weaps ran out, and u had no muny :(
In fact most of the players i knew from Exteel didnt have cash items and were pretty damm good, its just like in every other game, cash items help but skill>all, more so on fps/3ps.
Still one of my favorite online 3ps/fps .
