Speculation:Square Enix to Start FFXIV All Over Again?

The developer of the Final Fantasy series confessed the failure of the MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV, and had a mind to start it all over again.


At the press conference held in Tokyo, Japan on Sept.
28, Yoichi Wada on behalf of Square Enix confessed the failure of Final
Fantasy XIV, and intended to re-develop the game so as to regain the
Final Fantasy series' reputation. The CEO disclosed that they planned to
start Final Fantasy XIV all over again as it had compromised the
reputation of the Final Fantasy series, and wished to realize their
original ideas. Shortly after being officially released last September, Final Fantasy XIV
was criticized seriously by various well-known game media overseas. For
example, the American game site GameSpot commented that Final Fantasy
XIV was a combination of stupid things and was indeed a failure, and
said that future updates might make it better. In view of the stupid
systems and the excessively complicated structure, players also
questioned the game's completeness.



To better the PC version of Final Fantasy XIV,
Square Enix delayed the release of the PS3 version which's originally
scheduled to be rolled out this March, and assigned new developers
(including the development director) to work on the game.


According to Yoichi Wada, they will step forward
sticking to the road of online games in the future, but will not develop
all Dragon Quest titles following Dragon Quest X as online games.

if they really revamp the whole game and redo the system and stuff then ffxiv have a chance to come back around.

the graphics of the game is fine.just need to redo the features.

however i doubt it will be any time soon in the near future.if they are really redoing it then it might take them at least 1-2 years.

i will try the game again if they do ^^

ditto, ffxiv got some really cool concepts too bad they fail at it in implementation. if they decide to take it back and fix it, i'm sure it'll be really worth the shot to try it again in the future.

if the seriously redesigned it from the ground up I'd probally try it again, I liked the gfx and FF11 was a fairly solid mmo, was kinda surprised they failed so badly with ff14.

I do hope they sort it out, if not for this game then for future games, there rep needs to be repaired.

well if u meant the recent patch it is not the one we are hoping for heh.

but for the sake of testing out the chocobo i maybe log in take a look a bit when i am free

yeah i went back in for 15 mins then came out again

heaps of new gear and items and stuff

and changes to recepies basically everything

so all my old gear is now called (dated) so none of my macros work now

*facepalm

but yeah crafting is same old shit

social system is non existant

i;m going back to playing fps until swtor comes out

Signed up with the Twin Adders and got the company-issued giant chicken. Cannot be summoned within any city limits.

The company battleleves suck, you're forced to run out the entire 15 minute duration per leve even if the conditions are met early. Basic reward is 60 company seals per leve at Treespeak, haven't tried the Muntuy ones.

Btw, you still cannot kick inactives from linkshells.

this is why ffxiv fail.they keep adding content but neglect the basic pffft
