GamersFirst is known for picking up
APB from Realtime Worlds and remaking it to a free-to-play title. It seems
that the US based publisher is satisfied with the APB deal and they
decide to make another try, and their target is post-apocalyptic shooter
Fallen Earth. According to
Massively,
GamersFirst has officially announced the takeover of the Fallen Earth
operation. We all know what it means - Fallen Earth will turn to
free-to-play.
There's no further details released in regard to when F2P Fallen
Earth will live and the possible changes of the game. However,
GamersFirst has confirmed that the original Fallen Earth team will
remain intact, which means the core of the game won't be changed. About
the business mode, according to GamersFirst,
there will be 4 types of models: completely free, Silver, Gold, and VIP subscription levels. Among the 4 types of models, Silver, Gold, and VIP require you to pay
subscription fee, and the price is different depending on the service
you choose. Of course, the benefits you can gain are different, for
example, Golden members can earn more reward points and bonuses (can be
spent in the item shop) than Silver members each month. For free
players, they can play the game without restriction, but they won't be
offered reward points. As for what can be purchased from item shop,
GamersFirst hasn't given any detail yet.
Keep an eye on the
Fallen Earth website, as well as
GamersFirst's portal if you are interested in the game.
