client. Due to the modifications made to the game since the end of CB2,
all players who installed the Closed Beta client must download and
install a manual patch in order to play Aika in Open Beta. Click on the
link below to download the patch:
Aika OBT Patch
Please note that the patch’s
default install directory is C:\Program
Files\gPotato\AikaOnline.
We’ll be releasing download
links to a full Open Beta client later today. If any errors occur
while installing the patch, please uninstall the game and reinstall it
with the Open Beta client. We know this is a very last-minute
announcement and regret any inconvenience this may cause Aika players.
Other Important Announcements
Castle Siege and Lord Marshal Status
There
will be no Castle Siege this Saturday, March 20th. The weekly schedule
for Castle Siege application and event will be announced early next
week. Open Beta will not begin with set Lord Marshals—the Lord Marshal
system will not go into effect until after the first Castle Siege on
March 27th.
Billing and
Item Shop
The Aika item shop will be opening in the very
near future after the start of Open Beta. To ensure players are
adequately prepared for item shop interactions, the Billing staff has
asked us to tell you ahead of time that gPotato accounts must be
registered with the player’s correct name to be able to use certain
payment types, including credit card, PayPal, or Google Checkout. Just
having a first name or personal nickname is fine, but not using names
which are obviously fake (i.e. “Luke Skywalker”). Players who have
already registered with a name which doesn’t follow this rule need to
create a new account with an appropriate registered name to ensure their
gPotato transactions occur properly.
There will be a Billing
forum under Support once the item shop opens, but until then please
email billing@gala-net.com
with any questions or concerns, or use the live chat link on the
payment option page during business hours.
Rewards for Closed Beta Participants
The
Aika team very much appreciates all the players who participated in
Closed Beta #1 and #2. To show our gratitude, we’ve made a special CBT
Player Reward package which all CB player accounts will receive for Open
Beta. This package includes Fire, Water, and Air Essences, Caelium,
and Honor series weapons specifically created to commemorate CB players.
These weapons do not have any inherent stats—they are weapon “skins”
only. In order to make these weapons more than decorative, players
should use the Transfer crafting ability with another weapon of the same
class and type to infuse the CB reward weapon with stats. Note that
this process transfers ALL of the characteristics of the first weapon to
the CB weapon excluding appearance, and that the first weapon will be
destroyed in the process. Please refer to the Transfer section of the Crafting guide for more detailed information.
To receive the reward package, players will need to log into the game
on their CB accounts and then press the "T" key when playing the
character intended to receive the item. The package should
automatically be placed in the character's inventory, so make sure you
have room!
close beta weapons for being in cb in kaika.
