Final Fantasy Vanafest 2010 : Beta Information

FFXIV News so far:

• FFXIV Tester Site opening March
  11th for those chosen! - Invite notification info still unknown
  
  
• Beta announced for FFXIV - Details have not yet been completely revealed
  
• New FFXIV gameplay footage - not yet viewable to non-attendants for the

• Info on the FFXIV Alpha for the FFXI players invited will

This morning's official Live Stream Test on location at Vanafest is
over. Sorry if you missed it. A recap:

It started with the host holding up and explaining a moogle-patterned
handkerchief, which all VanaFest goers will be receiving, apparently. He
showed a few ways you could use it, including wrapping it around your
hear like a do-rag, as presented by Mr. Tanaka. They then took the
camera around the Seinenkan, the venue at which this is being held, to
show what it looks like around the inside.

now the wait begun.hope we all get in beta

With the eagerly anticipated FINAL FANTASY XIV drawing ever nearer its beta test phase, we are excited to announce that we will be conducting a closed alpha test—exclusive to our loyal FINAL FANTASY XI users!

Those who have been selected as beta testers can expect to receive further information starting from Monday, March 1.

* The tester website is scheduled to go live on Thursday, March 11.

Those who were not selected in this drawing, fear not, for there will be other opportunities to come. Be sure to stay tuned!

shu:so its most likely normal beta tester will be starting around april or may while they let in some selected ffxi users as alpha first wave of the beta test.we just have to wait a bit longer -.-

When Final Fantasy XI's VanaFest was announced, the one thing to catch the attention of fans eagerly awaiting any news about Square Enix's highly anticipated next generation MMORPG, Final Fantasy XIV, was the mention of a "Special Bonus Stage" for Final Fantasy XIV.

With the breathtaking and face-blowing event now concluded, it was revealed via Square Enix's live stream that all 1,114 VanaFest attendees would be granted automatic access to a closed Alpha testing stage of Final Fantasy XIV. This news kicked up discussion on forums about the fairness of such an announcement to the rest of the world's Final Fantasy fans, but the official VanaFest website soon put those fears to rest with the following:

"Those who were not selected in this drawing, fear not, for there will be other opportunities to come. Be sure to stay tuned!"

The tester site is set to go live on March 11, so can we safely assume we'll get some kind of announcement from Square Enix on how you'll be able to secure yourself a spot in this first testing phase by then? It sure sounds possible. In the meantime, VanaFest attendees should expect their alpha invites to be in the email inboxes today. With travel time, perhaps these emails will even beat some adventurers home!
