Q: Where can I get information from about Forsaken World? The official Perfect World blog is a good way to get information:
http://www.perfectworld.com/blog/I would also suggest visiting
this thread where you can find fan blogs, there is a
lot of information there.
Also, the Perfect World Podcast is worth listening to for information.
Q: Are classes locked to certain races? The classes are available to the following:
Warrior: Human/Elves
Protector: Stoneman
Priest: Human/Elves
Vampire: Kindred
Assassin: Human/Kindred
Bard: Elves
Marksman: Dwarves
Mage: Human/Kindred
Where can I find information about skills?Cinderboy translated the skills. They are in no way
official, but may give you a good idea on
what to expect. Again, they are not the final and official skills.
Q: Wasd or key movement?Both.
Q: How many characters will we be able to have per account? Not known yet.
Q: Will Forsaken World use programs like X-trap or Gameguard? No information about that yet.
Q: What is the level cap?A level cap will be announced for closed beta later on.
Q: How many people can be in a party?Judging from screenshots, a party can have 6 members.
Q: How does the two-currency system work?From Cinderboy's blog (
http://mmoculture.blogspot.com/2010/...ures-pt-2.html):
Economy or currency inflation is one of the most problematic issues
plaguing most games. In order to counter currency farming and prevent
massive inflation, a new economy system is implemented in Forsaken
World. This is known as the "Soul Currency" system.
After much discussions, the developers found 2 ways to counter currency
farming. First, ingame currency can be limited to certain uses and not
used as the main form of currency. This way, gold farmers will not be
encouraged to farm and store too much gold. However, this will lower the
entertainment and play value of the game for the players. Second,
ingame currency was to be separated into 2 types. The first type will be
normal gold, while the 2nd type will be soulbound to players for
learning skills. However, there are bound to be more disadvantages than
advantages as players will be put off by all the restrictions.
After so much thought and brainstorming, what will be the best system to
implement in the game? In the end, the developers went ahead with 2
kinds of currency - a normal one which is tradeable, the other known as
"Soul Currency" which is not tradeable.
Soul Currency will be used to learn skills, buy potions, equipments...
Other than trading with other players, Soul Currency can be used to
purchase almost any items. Rewards from quests, mob drops and selling of
equipments will only give players Soul Currency. This will definitely
hit potential gold farmers hard. The tradeable, normal currency can only
be gotten from instances and various ingame activities and events.
Q: How big is my inventory? There will be three sub-inventories (for normal, quest, special or
trading items). The space for normal items is, according to screenshots,
24 spaces (with what seems like space for an inventory expansion).
Q: Can you fly? There is no indication that there will be flying or flying mounts like
in Perfect World.
Q: Can you jump? Yes.
Q: How does the Horoscope system work? You are able to input a birthdate at the beginning, while making your
character. Your birthdate will belong to a star constellation. If that
star constellation dominates the sky, you can receive great rewards,
like buffs, items and much more. What you get also depends on your Faith
(which can be increased by praying). An astronomer (occupation) can
make more accurate Horoscopes.
Q: Will there be instances?Head
here to find more information on instances.
Q: What are the XP skills?XP skills are special racial skills. Every race possesses different one.
Everytime you kill mobs, a third bar, the "rage" bar fills. When it is
filled, you will be able to unleash powerful AoE skills on the mobs
surrounding them, which most of the time means instant kill. XP skills
cannot be used in pvp. They grow stronger with quests/levels.

Q: Can we swim in Forsaken World?Yes.
Q: Will there be rankings?Yes, it is rumored the ranking system will have to do a lot with the God
system.
Q: Is there a quest tracker?Yes. You can automatically run to quest givers. Your quests can be
tracked and will show up on the right side of your screen.
Q: Will there be starter areas?Yes, each race will have their own starter area. Cinderboy found this
great picture for us:
Q: Will races have different attributes and racial skills? Each race will have 1 special racial skill of their own.
Human - Skill name will be called "Prayer". Dispels Sleep, Silent, Bind
and Stun status, recovers some MP.
Dwarf - Skill name will be called "Energy". Dispels Sleep, Silent, Bind
and Stun status, increases movement speed according to character level.
Elf - Skill name will be called "Natural Leech". Binds target to the
ground and leeches target's mana point.
Stoneman - Skill name will be called "Earth's Fury". Long distance Stun
skill, Last 3+0.5 * caster's level. Deals a fixed 100 damage.
Kindred - Skill name will be called "Way of the Vampire". Leeches
target's health point according to caster's health point and inflict
Silent status on target. (Cinderboy, MMO Culture, Features part six)
Forum UseQ: How do I get an avatar?Everyone automatically gets an impersonal avatar. For every character
you make in game, a new avatar you can use will appear. You can't upload
your own from what I know.
Q: How do I get a signature?Currently, there is a glitch that doesn't let you edit your Forsaken
World avatar. To avoid it, head here:
http://fw-forum.perfectworld.com/pro...=editsignatureYou can upload a picture or insert a link with the picture (if it is too
big, an error will show up. Make sure your signature has the correct
size). You can also add colors, smileys, text. Remember that signatures
mustn't be so large that they take up most of the site and always
remember that signatures shouldn't be so bright that they bother other
people. Signatures must abide to the forum rules.
Q: How do I send private messages? At the top right corner, click on User CP (
http://fw-forum.perfectworld.com/private.php)
or at the top right corner, click on your name. Click on "send new
message". Insert the name of the person you want to send the message to.
Q: How do I add friends?Again, click on User CP/your name and click on "contacts". Insert the
name of your friend and click on "add contact". Edit: This doesn't seem
to work correctly at the moment.
Q: How do I quote or edit?At the top right corner of each post, you will see certain buttons.
Click on quote if you want to quote someone, if that post is your own,
the additional button edit will show up.
Sections to be added later on:
PvPForsaken World features a unique PvP system, the soul PK. This system
will involve player skill and movement. hikarux3 did a great job
translating that, look at
this thread. You can also find more information on
the blogs of
cinderboy and
autumnaldusk.
Q: Will there be PK zones, open world PK or Pvp Servers?Nothing official has been said regarding that topic.
God SystemMounts and PetsQ: Will there be pets?Yes. There will be "normal" pets you can tame (you can tame any wild mob
in the game). Also, hikarux3 went through the trouble to translate the
"magical" pet system for us. I take no rights for the translation (see
this topic for the original thread) Also, read more
about pets
here (thanks to cinderboy)
Q: Will there be mounts?Yes.
Q: Will mounts be race or class-restricted?No information about that yet.
Q: How to get a pet?It seems you get your first pet at level 10 and with that, the ability
to "tame" your first mobs.
Q: How to get the taming skill?See above.
Q: What is the difference between a tamer and a normal player? It seems tamer can tame elite or stronger mobs (or have a higher success
chance).
OccupationsAside from your class, you can also learn occupations. You can learn as
many occupations as you would like to. Occupations can be learned from
NPCs, though some occupations can't be learned from NPCs.
1.Socialite
Someone who can coerce or persuade a NPC to get special quests that are
not available to other players.
2.Adventurer
Someone who observes the changes of the world and looks out for
legendary Beasts and unusually strong mobs to report to the Department
of monsters.
3.Merchant
Can use "bargain" and "shill bidding", as well as "market forecast" and
many other skills to observe the market and get the best prices. A very
useful occupation to get rich. Might also be able to get special items.
4.Collector
Useful to make friends, the collector copies valuable information from
books or scrolls.
5.Arcanist
Able to utilize Runes to the fullest extent of their power. Some Runes
may bestow good luck, protection and punishment (evil effects).
6.Botanist
Identifies and collects herbs.
7.Astrologist
Able to make even more accurate forecasts. They are able to predict the
future. They can also receive blessings from the God by praying.
8./9. Bladesmith and Armorsmith: All around making and refining armor
and weapons.
10.Tamers: Can tame special pets not available to others (for example
bosses/elite mobs).
11.Alchemist: Produces pharmaceuticals which is able to restore health,
MP, and maybe able to resurrect the dead.
12.Cook: Able to make potions (you won't be able to buy potions from
NPCs after level 30).
Please note: The names are not official yet. For translation, I used
help from Asfer's translation
here. So thank Asfer for the translation
GuildsNote: a Guild forum has been made. If you are seeking to join a guild,
visit
here.
From cinderboy, I take no credit for the information (find it here:
http://mmoculture.blogspot.com/2010/...ures-pt-4.html):
Requirements - Level 20, 10 gold.
I have read that players who play casually till level 20 will only
barely have around 1gold during the Chinese Preview Test. Kind of hard
to earn I guess. NPC can be found at Freedom Harbor to start a guild.
Not much is known, but here is some information which I know.
- There will be hundreds of Guild Bases up for grabs in each server.
- These Guild Bases will be shown on the World Map, including which
guild is occupying the base.
- Guilds will be able to somehow design and upgrade their bases.
- There will be special NPCs selling exclusive items and NPCs helping
guild members to run trade errands.
- Other than the special NPCs, there will be a garden for members to
tend to and once again, build up their base into grand castles or mighty
forts.
- Guild Vs Guild PK Wars will allow guilds to accumulate points and
summon their own God.
- By having a God character in the guild, the guild can lead its own
server's players to war against another server. This is known as the God
Wars, or Battle of the Gods to sound nicer. Or Clash of the Titans. I
have no idea how many players can such a war hold, but its pretty
impressive sounding even for a PvE (or carebear) player like me.
- Forsaken World will also support several other cross-servers PvP wars,
including Guilds Vs Guilds, Guild Base Siege, 1 on 1 PvP and many more
type of PvPs, all cross-servers.
