Since I'm defenitely gonna play FFXIV, and having Aion before that, and with B&S and C9 on the horizon aswell there will be too many titles to pay for hehe

Yeah and hopefully less instances and more open pvp/pve world. The one thing that really put me off in that game was the pve was too much soloable (I prefer playing with people) and there's only world chat in cities and towns. Otherwise, it feels a pretty lonely game.

I played the 1st GW from release till before expansion ^_^ was a very active game back then, never really felt the lack of community except on end missions.

But I have to agree haha, with the right skills I was solo farming bosses higher lvl then me on my warrior cleaning whole missions supposed for full teams etc. Although I did enjoy it for a while, it lacked the ability to last long before becoming very repetitive.

The funy thing is I liked the pve missions in the game more then the actual pvp. But after completing it a few times on 8 different characters I left for WoW

Yeah I still have the original GW I bought when it came out , loved the missions , got bored. Was gonna buy factions cause it had the japanese/chinese stuff going on and the assassin and stuff but I didn't. Really hope GW2 has some of the old GW stuff going on but better :)

I love a few of the things I saw hehe.

That plant race turning a mob into a plant.

And the lil guys having the huge golems accompany them :o

The beast race being able to turn into a fierce beast didn't seem as new, but it's always a cool thing hehe.

The game itself looks beautiful.. Looks as good as the new FF.. 2010 will be packed with a lot of mmo greatness...

B & S, GW2, FF, Aion.....and the list continues....so much good stuff its hard to pick from!

It's not completly decided yet if it's gonna be purely b2p or p2p Arena Net has been in conflict with ncsoft about it for a long time.

Anyway it looks like it's gonna be a great game.

Is a good page to read about most of the infromation about GW2 and a cool thing is that Arena Net will be releasing 3 books about the 250 years between Eye of the north campaign and GW2.

yeah graphics look nice.hope the ingame graphics will be almost as good as the trailer ones which is not impossible since most of gw is based on small group instances and not open world.

will probably take a year or more for it to be release anyway heh

I haven't seen many big mmo companies state something so clearly and then return on it, if they wouldn't be sure they would say something like to be decided or whatever

The original one didn't have it and they made quite the buck out of it + the expansions.

ya but ncsoft lately been focusing on their own game coins system which they will may be applying to aion in term extra service of changing sex or changing server,special custume,pets etc

the NCcoin system is suppose to be for GW2 as well as all upcoming mmo they planning i heard so it stand to reason they will have some sort of cash system there as well that will not unbalance the game.

at first they claim they wont be using it for all games they have.but lately they been expanding on the system.the chances of the system in gw2 is pretty high.

but i doubt will unbalance the game.most likely its for extra service or for looking pretty or awesome or for cute pets etc.

Shu for GW 1, It only gives you options to adjust your game to your needs. Since there were a bunch of expansions since part 1, but most of them were stand alone. So you could still play GW1 without any expansion even right now, or have all the expansions.

The imp pet is for people that don't buy the "Eye of the North" expansion in which the imp pet is included for everyone.

The pvp acess kit allows you to fight in the pvp arenas, without ever touching the pve part of the game, you can log in and not have any other GW part installed. And just start pvping without having to pay more if you dislike pve part of the game.

The 4 extra missions pack is just like a small expansion, you don't have to buy it if you don't want to do those missions.

All in all it's not cash shop, it's how GW makes its money, by releasing expansions. And small updates are not paid, but the big expansions you have to pay extra for, but don't have to. This in return leads to no monthly fee though.

As for GWII it will take at least half a year ~ year before they would ever charge ya for a new expansion, and they do update the game quite well in between the expansions.

ya snow i must be mistaken about gw1 then.but their plan was for new
mmo anyway so gw2 technically have a chance to be part of coin system.

without expansion u miss out on some of the gears that can be gotten
inside though,so technically u still paying unless u wish to have a
gimp game in the long run without experiencing the full game pve.but ya
u can skip those if u just wish to get max lvl and go right for pvp

but what about coh where they include jet pack for 30 days?and some
mini expansion that unlock some skill group?is that part of expansion
also?i never did play gw or coh so i not very sure ^^

i know for a fact for aion they plan coin system for special custume
and name change/server change/sex change etc and pets.nothing that
really affect the balance of the game.a bit like what bizzard is doing
with wow now.

like i say earlier,ncsoft have plans for coins system to be in their
games.but shouldn be unbalancing.but expect to pay some extra if u
intend to get some of the extra features or use some of the extra

I dislike the idea of having a p2p game that sells in game stuff on top of it.

As for name change, sex change and server change, it is a thing that really does not affect others, but having a cool pet that others can't get in game while paying the monthly fee aswell, is something for f2p not p2p where you pay to play on exactly same grounds as the others. Look and gameplay wise.

I'm not sure about coh since I never touched that game, it is why I only said about GW.

But I have hope that it won't be much more then what is offered for Lord of the Rings p2p game.

Where you can pay to change server, name, sex but nothing that has anything to do with gameplay, or looks or whatever is inside the game.

Actually shu, the 1st GW was managed way better then Aion was.
Also if its built same way as GW 1 it's really handy vs bots, since every map has mobs and after you clear it they dont respawn you have to restart the map or go next map etc.

hope so snow.i think i will buy this when it is out if its really b2p :)
