NCsoft: New Measure against the Teenager-oriented Anti-addiction Bill

As reported by South Korean media, the game tycoon NCsoft has recently taken a new measure against the teenager-oriented anti-addiction bill that was just approved.

Before the bill was approved, all online games required
players to enter their real names and ID card numbers in the process of
account registration. To protect teenagers against game addiction, South
Korea's parliament came up with and approved the teenager-oriented
anti-addiction bill. This bill requires all online game companies to
introduce monitoring systems into their online games and drive away the
teenagers who've played games longer than allowed by law.

This measure is bound to help control teenagers' gaming
time, but can deal a heavy blow to various game companies at the same
time. However, as the old saying goes, while the priest climbs a post,
the devil climbs ten. As NCsoft
bravely changed the way of account registration this time, players no
longer need to fill in their real names or ID card numbers, but can
register accounts by using only email addresses. This registration
method has been popularized in North America and Europe early actually.

NCsoft
is the first company in the game industry to challenge South Korea's
parliament, but will never be the last. So, who'll be the next?
