| Vehicles & VesselsThis is an overview of the types of vehicles and vessels that so far appeared in official sources about SWTOR. As soon as there is more information on this topic, this page will be updated accordingly. Vessels Player Ships No matter if Jedi Knight or Sith Inquisitor - every player in the Old Republic has his very own space ship for travelling, as base of operations and for space combat. The following types have been confirmed: | | | | | Imperial Agent Ship | Bounty Hunter Ship | | Smuggler Ship | Trooper Ship | | | Starfighters Starfighters are small, maneuverable spaceships that mostly serve military purposes and are accordingly armed. They can usually be steered by only one pilot, a droid, or a remote-controlled. Although they are able to fly within planetary atmospheres they are predominantly depolyed in orbits. | | | | Shuttles Shuttles are relatively small spaceships that are used to transport passengers. They mostly only travel over short distances, for example from ship to ship or from ship to planet. Some are, however, equipped with hyperdrives enabling them to travel over very long distances. | | | | Transports (Freighters) Transports or freighters are small to medium sized vessles that are mostly used to carry goods. Usually equipped with hyperdrives, they are able to quickly travel over long distances. Some are armed and used as battleships or troop transports. | | | | Capital Ships A capital ship is an exceptionally large vessel that has a minimum length of 100 meters. They are mostly heavily armed and serve military purposes. Typically they offer enough space to carry further small ships and vehicles, and need a large crew complement to operate during missions. | | Vehicles Speeder Bikes Speeder bikes are small, open-air transports that offer enough place for one or two passengers. They use repulsorlift drives allowing them to hover a few meters above the ground. They are known for their exceptional maneuverability. | | | | Landspeeder Landspeeder are hovering vehicles that can travel across nearly every terrain with relatively high speed. With their repulsorlift drives they move a few meters above the ground. | | | | Airspeeder Airspeeder are vehicles that can move in fairly high altitudes, unlike the landspeeder. They can do that, because they usually have stronger repulsorlift drives, also enabling them to reach higher top speeds. Some are on top of that equipped with boosters that allow them to fly in planetary orbits for a short time. | | | | Walker Referred to as walkers are all those vehicles that use legs for locomotion. They usually serve as troop transports or combat vehicles and have military purposes. | | | |
