Anime Recommendation Thread

As the subject states, this thread is for asking others for anime
recommendations. Let's try to keep this thread on topic and use this

I been trying to find some new / old animes to get in to. But everything i end up trying to watch, I realized i have already seen it lol
Anyone recommend some not so mainstream animes?

Swords/Action/Gore eh..lol not really my genre tbh. You should check on sites like myanimelist.net, www.anime-planet.com for recommendations. They have a lot of "If you liked ____, then you'll like ___"

hmmm you watched koukaku no regios yet? (chrome-shelled regios). its a fairly new one, but some people over-looked it. I personally thought it was decent, but i say give that a try if you haven't seen it yet.

other than that lemme go scan a list of anime quick and see what i can come up with.....

Gungrave (not a sword anime, but plenty of gore and a mature, dark storyline) <---actually one of my all-time favorites.

of course you prolly seen elfen lied, so wont bother mentioning that seriously.

kyou kara maou is another, but most have seen that as well.

bah this is annoying me, i know i've seen plenty of awesome sword/gore type anime, but they all escape me atm lol

If you haven't seen gungrave though, i suggest you give it a shot for now though.

btw if you like gun grave, you might like Blassreiter (it has a lil 3d animation in it) Great anime. It's a gonzo title, and if you know how gonzo is, it's not a happy type anime ^^

I can't join any site anymore in fear of my old habbit coming back lol. But anime planet is definitely one of the few good ones still around. Just don't want to get attached to anime sites ^^

I used to run an anime website for 5 years before turning in to the mmorpg addict i am today :P
Ever heard of Mike from AnimeSphere.net and Anime legacy? those were my sites. I had some support and mods to run both the forum and main site with news/reviews/etc.

My anime legacy forum grew to like 4,000 uniques per day, and like 3000 forum members ^^
My anime sphere site grew to like 1300 uniques per day, and like 1800 forum members :)

We had anime Play station reviews (games based on animes) over 50 reviews
Like 80 anime reviews (Though i have watched maybe 300-400 titles)
anime news i used to leech off of sites like animenewsnetwork and so on lol
I was affiliates with sites like dbzn.net, dbzlegacy.com (or was it .net?) well, hugely popular sites back in the prime of anime websites with real content and real news.

Now most just leech off each others videos hosted in megavideo/veoh/etc
And the real content kind of died in this generation of anime sites. no real good reviews, no real news (just the original AnimeNewsNetwork ANN) does news now etc. There's maybe a handful of good anime info sites still around. But i got to admit, i'm preaching, yet i only visit stream site these days to go directly to the stuff lol. I do visit animenfo.com to check the new releases though :)

meh rant over lol. But you see why i don't join any of these sites. Now i just watch the videos, but i wont join any community ^^

Catching up on Bleach. On ep. 243 right now. This Chick-with-huge-boobs-and-a-dude's-face-and-voice from Renji's sword is really starting to trip me out...

even though the storyline is crap but the graphic is what kept me watching!
