looks really good, although I preffer fantasy above sci-fi
I hope the mmo guys won't suddenly all start making sci-fi crap

Ok the first game, Berkanix Online, looks like Rising Force Online! It even sounds like RFO! And if it turns out to be a real korean grinder like what a lot of people are saying then I'm gonna quit my job for 6 months.



The second game, Argo Online, seem to be the main rival to Berkanix. I think they're both going to be released at pretty much the same time. I'm still more interested in Berkanix though



Anyway, enough with the new games. Right now the only thing on my mind is Aion and I'm gonna grind Aion to death and wipe the floor clean with pigeon's blood, then we can talk about new games.

Both games look pretty good but if you want to play a game like Berkanix i think Global Agenda is a lot better its sort of the same thing but fps mode (which requires more skill,) its actually going to come out soon.

Well Global Agenda is like a 3rd person online shooter with some mmo in it. Berkanix is more like a fighting mmo with some long range attacks. I am interested in Global Agenda but i don't think I'll be really playing it. Currently playing Section 8 and it's very similar. Just doesn't have the persistance online world part. More of a community stats/achievements page.

nice am always a big fan of sifi mmorpg and i play RF online also great cant w8 to try it :p

Berkanix is a sci-fi MMORPG with a mysterious atmosphere. There are no classes or armor or level restriction in the game. Several user interfaces will be displayed on the screen, so it will look a little bit complicated. Most systems are item related. It is expected that the game will launch closed beta in the winter of this year.

Korea-based ChoiRock Games announced to dissolve its next-gen online game Berkanix's
development team on June 14 all of a sudden, and put the development of
Berkanix which was once considered to decide the company's fate to a
suspension.

ChoiRock Games announced the dissolution to Berkanix's
development team composed of more than 120 developers on June 13,
expressing that they'd re-consider the game and assign new developers to
it. This undoubtedly dealt a heavy blow to the 120+ developers.

According to ChoiRock Games, the dissolution was caused
by the fact that Berkanix failed to make as good achievements as
ChoiRock Games' representative works including Shaiya and DragonSky;
Under the great pressure of "must succeed", the company had no choice
but to suspend the game's development.



With the time spent on development and preparation for
commercial service reckoned in, Berkanix has cost a total of 7 years
with nearly 20 billion won (about 0.18 billion US dollars) invested. As
ChoiRock Games' director said when Berkanix was made public, the company
bet its future on the game, and engaged in not only the MMORPG version
but also the browser-based one, comics and other relevant products. It
can be said that ChoiRock Games had put almost all its energy into
producing Berkanix.

Anyway, ChoiRock Games made it clear that the
development team's dissolution accounted to the cancellation of Berkanix
in no case, and that they would continue to develop the game when they
got things ready.

With the adoption of Unreal Engine 3, ChoiRock Games
(formerly known as "Sonov") had exerted itself to develop the online
sci-fi blockbuster Berkanix for years. The company endeavored to endow
the game with a futuristic style integrating both fantasy and sci-fi
elements, with a view to making the game different from other existing
MMORPGs.

In my opinion they put to much money into something that was more like a BIG gamble. There is no way this game is gonna attract as many players as Shaiya did during its first 2 months. And after RF, a lot of ppl stay away from fantasy/scifi rpg hybrids.

ya its kinna a big gamble for them.its a must succeed or company die kinna plan.too risky in my view also.

but hopefully they will come out with a good mmo under those pressure hehe
